 _-A Home At Last...-_ {Staking Claim}

||I dont know if anyone owns this but yeah||

I'm looking for a place to call a home...

The hue of stormclouds, or the ocean when it is angry is often a deep, angry grey at first. If you cared to look deeper, you would see other colors, too: blacks, blues, subtle tones accentuating the feeling of the moment. If you would but stop for a moment and gaze into his eyes you would see the same: a restless, angry demeanor. His was altogether different, though, because there was always a hard edge to his expression, a concentration on doing things the right way, that can only be found in the gaze of intelligent beings like himself. His were the kind of eyes that seemed to look right through things, seeing something beyond that which they physically were, seeing into the things themselves.

Those same eyes now gazed across the green plains with a studious expression, examining every inch of the horizon in scrupulously examination. A nod, no more than a slight inclination of regal crown, assured that whatever he'd searched for had been found. Motion took the stag now, carrying his frame further through the knee deep grasses, swaying green and lush against pistons.

A place to escape...

Grey optics still surveyed the area, working now in tandem with the finely edged sense of smell he possessed. Nasals flared wide to reveal their crimson interiors, sucking in the atmosphere and all traces of equine that might hang upon it. Vaguely, the sent of others drifted through, though it was worn and elderly, as if they had not resided for some time. The final question answered, there was no reason he could give for waiting any longer.

And here I've found it.

A single, brassy bugle suddenly echoed over the lush grassland. The proud, challenging sound carried true across the land, his land now, for he doubted any would come to challenge him. After the sound had faded, or at least after he'd stopped voicing it, for the ring of it still hung throughout the air, proud dappled stud remained still. Beneath grey pelt, muscles quivered with excitement, the sense of belonging beginning to course through his veins once more. Finally, finally, he had a home again. Now another goal reared its head, ready as soon as the first had been fulfilled: he must find others, others to share a herd with and live along with. But that could wait, for a little while at least...

The stallion called Trippin Billy lowered his head to graze, filling usually empty belly with the sweet, lush grasses of his new homeland.

Like promises, like glass, they shatter to a thousand pieces
